  Oh My God!!

  yesterday after an awesome workout at the gym i was walking to the front door and i saw my former friend who is a "spiritually strong" (non-thinking) jw walking towards me talking with a trainer.

  i thought she was either there on a job interview or was taking a tour of the facilities before joining.. i thought should i say hi, should i say nothing, would she acknowledge me, etc.

  i decided to say hi to make sure that she remembered that i am a member of this gym, so that she would not feel uncomfortable it she accepted a job there or joined it.. the gym is about 20 miles from where she lived when i was friends with her, but is in a convenient location between where she was living and where she works.. i said "hi n" about five feet before me, no response.. i said "hi n" a little louder about five feet after they passed me.

  mostly if all the weird anxiety i experience from time to time is related to it.

  I need help in dealing with a toxic family member!!!!

  i have a close family member who is a pro in using shame to try to make me feel bad.

  they are coming to stay at my place soon and the issue of me and mrs hoser not attending/ doing field service will come up no doubt.. i need some advice on how to deal with this because whenever i deal with these relatives they make me feel worthless.

  it is probably part because they are jw's and jw's motivate by fear and guilt.. .

  Very good advice and things to think on hoser.

  It's understandable that you're torn emotionally about how to handle your family. But, you must take of yourself. Don't allow people into your space who make you ashamed of yourself. At least until you know how to stand up for yourself and change the abusive interaction to a healthy one.

  i have noticed that there are different reactions to learning the "truth about the truth".

  some become quite bitter and angry and become very activist.

  others seem to just move on quite easily.. .

  I'm not perpetually angry or bitter. But I've had my moments. When something of value is stolen from you, anger and bitterness is a normal reaction. The more valuable the thing stolen and the less chance of recovering that stolen thing, the more intense the reaction will be.

  Nothing wrong in that at all. Watchtower uses that angry/bitter apostate label to further discourage normal reactions to their particular brand of bullsh*t.

  here in gettysburg pa last night night we hit a low of -4 degrees but we were blessed with some wind that dropped the wind chill down to -22..

  "Jehovah ALWAYS had/used an organization". How would you reply?

  in a recent meeting with elders, an argument was used to the effect that jehovah has always [= throughout history] used, or operated through, an organization; therefore, the wts must be that organization today, since god must be using one.

  naturally, i know what arguments i've used to counter that argument.

  but i'm interested in hearing yours.

  Breyers is not allowed to call it's product "ice cream" anymore by the FDA!

  many other so called ice cream at grocery stores as well.

  have you noticed how it seems to be different than from a couple years ago?

  that it doesn't melt, it just warms up and becomes like a whipped cream texture?

  The Breyer's Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry that is in my freezer is made with milk, cream, sugar, strawberries, whey, cocoa, tara gum, natural flavor, carob bean bum.

  It's a 1.5Qt and says Ice Cream on the carton.
